We own three properties that provide a safe haven where teenage children can live while their cases are assessed or until suitable foster parents are identified. These homes are furnished and decorated to provide a warm welcome to teens that are experiencing difficult and traumatic times. Partners in the community often help us with landscaping the gardens, painting or even donating new electronics or sports equipment so the teens can feel comfortable and relaxed in this setting. Our goal is to maintain these homes in a way that makes the residents proud to call them home.
The Children’s Aid Society of Halton strives to keep children living with their families whenever possible. However, even after receiving relevant support, some parents are unable to provide adequate care for their children. In situations like these, children may have to be brought into the care of the Children’s Aid Society (CAS). Since a child or young person’s needs are better met (in most cases) in a family environment, a foster family is usually the first choice for these children. No matter what your experience or skills are, by becoming a foster parent you will have the opportunity to make a difference in the life of a child in need.
